Reporting from a ‘co-working space’, south London…
It’s the 17th of November which obviously means it’s time I remembered to announce the October winners of the Bet Chat Fantasy Football League. They are…
Carl Bradford’s ValBall Baggies who finished top with 275 points…
And Robert Smith’s Robs Rovers 1 who came 2nd just one point back on 274.
Congrats Carl and Robert! To claim your prizes just email clients@thebetchat.com.
The first frame fallacy in snooker
Before I go today I thought I’d share a little tip with you that I picked up from a former professional snooker player who I met yesterday…
First frame markets (as in, the first frame in a snooker match) are priced up in exactly the same way as every other frame in the match however, the first frame is in actual fact a very different proposition to the others…
For one, some players are much slower starters than others (the ex-pro in question cited Ronnie O’Sullivan – who he also happens to know personally – as one who tends to turn up at the last minute with no pre-match practise and so regularly gets off to a poor start)…
And for two, the first frame is psychologically a very different proposition, with early match nerves and newness of surroundings all creating a levelling effect.
It all sounds pretty obvious when laid out like that doesn’t it? But chances are, it’s something that you’d not considered before – certainly I’ve never placed a bet on a first frame market.
With the UK Championship starting next week, and then the Masters taking place in January, it’s something that I’ll be looking to exploit over the next couple of months. With a bit of luck it’s something that you’ll be able to profit from too.
