TipiLeaks

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that lots of different people and organisations like to ask for feedback but not that many of them actually act on it. At Bet Chat we set out to be different and so act we will!

Undoubtedly the two most used words in our recent survey were ‘honesty’ and ‘transparency’. It’s clear that those things are sorely lacking in the betting industry and so I thought that now would be the perfect time to launch ‘TipiLeaks’, a series of articles and interviews that lift the lid on the industry from a publishers’ point of view.

I’ve been in the industry for 10 years now and have witnessed the entire scale of betting people, from outright fraudster (a chap that Agora website, More Money Review, helped to expose, who actually ended up in prison) all the way through to those special few who combine worthy intentions with genuine skill…

Plus, of course, a whole bunch of people somewhere in between!

With that in mind, this series isn’t going to be all about highlighting the wrong ‘uns and I think you’d actually be surprised by how much genuinely good information is out there.

So, here’s what TipiLeaks will be revealing for you:

  • Exactly how all elements of publishing work. How the likes of Bet Chat make money and what that means for you, the reader.
  • The sneaky things to be aware of, both the warning signs of out and out cons and the more subtle tricks designed to exaggerate the quality of something or draw you in to something that isn’t really suitable.
  • And positive elements. Some of the good guys and how you can tell them apart from the bad guys.

In short, it aims to be a comprehensive exposé of the industry, good and bad. Sure, me highlighting the bad parts will upset some publishers out there but, quite frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn!

As for the topics, I already have the following lined up for you…

  • Third party promotions.
  • Confessions of a copywriter (these are the guys who write the advertising copy for betting services).
  • Bookmaker affiliate programmes.
  • Dirty tricks and other ways to spot a conman.
  • Behind the scenes of a publishing company (how we find tipsters and plenty more besides).

I do hope that all sounds appealing! If there’s anything I’ve missed that you’d like to hear about, let me know by emailing clients@thebetchat.com.

I’m off to work on ‘TipiLeaks: Third Party Promotions’ which should be with you tomorrow.
