As sports bettors, we love making predictions and we love making money from our predictions…
In the main, this is from traditional betting, but that desire to win by being the best ‘predicter’ has also led to the rise and rise of fantasy football, plus a bunch of other entertaining prediction based competitions.
I don’t know about you but in the past I’ve taken part in a multitude of these. Be they paid fantasy football leagues, score prediction leagues, last man standing competitions, Soccer Saturday’s Super Six, ITV Racing’s ITV7 and who knows what else.
They’re all good fun and I’ve won some good prizes from them in the past. The only problem is it can be hard to keep track…
Send an email to Barry on Friday to enter that one… log into my betting account to submit my results for that other one. Oh god and I’ve forgotten to WhatsApp Dave to get my entry in for the weird one.
Or, of course, you may have the other problem in that you’d like to take part in, say, a last man standing, but you don’t know anyone who’s running one and sure as hell don’t want to put in the hours organising and promoting one yourself!
Well, this is where Bet Chat come in…
You see, Racecracker guru Clive Jones and I am currently working on a Bet Chat ‘Game Zone’ where we will be running all manner of prediction based competitions for readers, with some hopefully very tasty cash prizes to be won.
Here are just a few of the competitions we’ve got lined up so far…
- Last man standing: for the uninitiated, this is where, in each round of fixtures, you pick a Premier League team to win and, if they don’t win, you get knocked out, with the last remaining player taking the pot. But there’s a catch! You can only pick each team once, so there’s no selecting Man City week in week out!
- A paid version of the fantasy football league with cash prizes.
- A football scores prediction league.
- A horseracing prediction league.
- And a year long big sporting events prediction game.
As you can see, there will be lots of variety and hopefully something for everyone whether they just want to fill in one set of predictions and wait and see what happens, or spend hours perfecting their fantasy team week on week.
