We come into this week in good form with a 60/1 place from Lucas Glover from the John Deere Classic. Hope you were on, and we’ll look to record more profit at The Open Championship this week.
The Open Championship (20th to 23rd July)
This year’s Open Championship at Royal Liverpool promises to be one of the best in a long time. The top players in the world come into this tournament in red hot form with Mcllroy, winner of the Scottish Open, Scheffler and many other big names playing some outstanding golf and showing brilliant consistency over four rounds each week.
John Rahm can never be counted out and, after his Masters win earlier this year, he will relish the chance to add another Major title to his name this week. The Spaniard seems to be well rested and will look to show the world why he should be back at the top of the rankings.
Last year’s winner Cameron Smith comes into this tournament in great form after winning the LIV Golf event at Centurion Club a few weeks ago and he will relish the chance to repeat his 2022 feat. Aussie Smith was one of the rebels who moved to LIV Golf circuit, and he will be out to take on the top three in the betting.
Brooks Koepka, runner up in the Masters earlier this year, is another golfer who can light up Royal Liverpool this week. Another LIV golf player in decent form, Koepka has the consistency with his driving, iron and putting to put him in with a chance of winning this Major. H is used to being at the business end before of Majors and has shown he can win.
Viktor Hovland has been playing excellent golf on the PGA Tour and landed a big win recently, so will also be hopeful of winning a Major on European soil. The ice cool Hovland has the iron play to put in four rounds of great golf and could be in the mix come Sunday.
Rickie Fowler is having a special year and topped this off with his first win in a long time, securing the play-off win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Fowler will also be up for the challenge of taking on Scheffler, Mcllory and Rahm in a Sunday showdown and coming out on top.
Brit Tommy Fleetwood goes under the radar at times, and he is one player that, if he gets on the birdie train, then he can rise up that leaderboard when it matters most. With a cool persona, Fleetwood would love nothing more than to be heading up the 18th hole on Sunday in pole position.
Shane Lowry won The Open Championship in 2019 and Tyrell Hatton offers a similar profile to Lowry and could be one of the British outsiders to go well this week.
