Reporting from Bet Chat HQ, north London…
It’s fair to say that right now is an interesting time in my life…
You see, as of March 11th, I’ll no longer be reporting from Bet Chat HQ, north London, but Bet Chat HQ, Northern Ireland.
I’ve been in London for just under 14 years and, while I’m leaving it very much on my own terms, it’s still pretty scary.
But you know what, that’s okay. And it’s okay because I strive to live my life by one key mantra:
You should always try the thing you’re thinking of trying. If you don’t like it, so what?
Back in 2010 I moved to London where I knew nobody, and I’d spent next to no time. It was pretty scary.
But if I didn’t like it, so what? I could always leave.
The same mantra can apply to pretty much anything…
Didn’t like that plate of food? So what? Just don’t order it again.
Didn’t enjoy that date? So what? Just don’t go out with her again.
Didn’t see what all the fuss was about when you watched Traitors? So what? Just put something else on the TV.
(That last one was made up. Traitors is bloody EXCELLENT)

Here’s the betting bit
Of course, as with many good mantras, you can also apply this to your betting…
Specifically, it’s much better to try something out than be left wondering, what if?
If you have a theory about backing outsiders on heavy ground, test it out.
If you see an eye-catching betting service from a reputable vendor, take advantage of the trial period.
Sure, the heavy ground angle might be a dead end and the service might not live up to the marketing hype, but as long as you paper trade or use small stakes initially, what have you lost, really?
Betting, just like life, is in essence one big game of trial and error. The mistake that people make isn’t trying things that don’t work out, it’s settling for a substandard existence…
Errors are NOT something to be scared of. After all, the more errors you make, the more you learn, and the closer you are to finding your perfect situation.
