“It’s coming home”

Reporting from a hipster coffee shop, north London…

The World Champions… OUT.

The European Champions… OUT.

The run to the final if England win tonight… two of Sweden, Ukraine, Denmark and Czech Republic.

It’s coming home isn’t it?

In all seriousness…

Now, obviously there’s a long way to go still EVEN IF we win tonight but hey, it never hurt to be positive did it?

Some of the negativity and criticism from England fans in this tournament so far has been frankly embarrassing…

Unbeaten, yet to concede, victories against World Cup runners up Croatia who have just pushed Spain to extra time, and the Czechs who have just knocked out the Netherlands…

Yet listen to England fans and you’d think we crashed out of the group stage while Gareth Southgate was busy taking a dump on a life sized portrait of the queen.

We’ve only got one life so you may as well enjoy it, and fuming when the team you support is actually WINNING is very much not doing that.

Believe it or not, booing the players in the stadium or sending abuse on social media isn’t going to make them play any better either!

Sure, we might well lose 4-0 tonight having not had a shot on target. If that happens then there will rightly be an inquest and cause to moan.

But until that point my message for today is simple…

Be positive and for heaven’s sake try to enjoy it – knockout games in major international tournaments are few and far between.

COME ON ENGLAND!

The Sunday Scoop

If there’s one thing guaranteed to improve our investing skills, it’s reading as much as possible about the field that we want to be proficient in.

For me, that field is obviously cryptocurrency and so, each Sunday, I share some articles of interest that can help to improve your understanding of cryptos and, ultimately, help you make more money from them!

I also try to ensure that there’s a mix of content for beginners, pros and everyone in between.

🍦 First up this week is an interview with a 29 year old crypto billionaire and yeah, I’m jealous too! Still, it’s an interesting story which you can read here.

🍦 On the subject of loadsa money, Visa and PayPal have backed a $300million Blockchain Capital fund. Good news for the crypto world which you can check out here.

🍦 Fancy moving to El Salvador? Our Crypto With Kash members are keen!

Fresh from making Bitcoin legal tender, the powers that be are now handing out $117million worth to it’s citizens! Here’s the story.

🍦 Crypto exchange FTX are giving away money too but sadly it’s to sports teams rather than people like you and I. This Tweet reveals their latest sponsorship plans.

🍦 For the wider crypto world it’s obviously not been the best few weeks, but when will the markets rebound and should you buy the dip? Here’s one point of view.

My point of view certainly hasn’t changed – I’m all about buying the dip! And so I’ll leave you with a link to my crypto service, which is where I’ve just released my latest coin recommendation. You can check it out here.

That’s all from me for today. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I’ll be back in your inbox in a few days’ time.

Bet Chat recommends…

Everyone loves a recommendation don’t they?

That’s why I’ve decided to start an all new Sunday series, where Bet Chat Bec and I will be highlighting the very best stuff we’ve been consuming with our eyes and ears over the preceding seven days.

It also – shock horror – won’t be purely stuff about sport, betting and investing. After all, having other interests and being able to ‘switch off’ is very much a good thing.

So, without further ado, let’s get started…

First up this week is an apology for not sending this email to you for the last fortnight, but the reason for the absence has been pretty straightforward… I’ve been watching and reading nothing but Euros content! I mean I hardly need to recommend that do I?

I will however give a shout out (not for the first time) to the excellent Guardian Football Weekly podcast which is actually daily for most of the Euros. You can give it a try here.

Away from the football, I’m heading to the cinema later for the first time since last summer, and while I can’t recommend the film I’m going to see as I’ve not seen it yet, I can most definitely recommend the film I saw last year, Saint Maud. It’s a fantastic British horror and is now available on Amazon Prime. Here’s a link.

Lastly, I’m going to go really off-piste with a recipe recommendation (well, I did say I’ve been watching and reading nothing bar the Euros!) If you can put to one side the dodgy moustache, terrible hoody and unnerving smile, this is a bit of a treat. And before you say anything no, I’m not a hipster vegan, and I’m sure it’d work just as well with chicken!

With that, I think we’re just about done for this week. Have a lovely Sunday.

“Guess how much I’ve just paid for a pint”

Reporting from Bet Chat HQ, north London…

Here at Bet Chat we’re big supporters of the hospitality industry, and a slight increase in prices is probably fair enough given the year they’ve had to endure, but it’s starting to get silly now.

Yesterday, at a perfectly normal/downmarket if anything pub, I paid for one pint…

Wait for it…

£6.65!

Much as I genuinely like London and criticism from people who don’t even live here is pretty irksome, that’s just plain daft. Oh for a return up north and the Holy Grail of the £3 pint!

Don’t panic!

While perusing that beer menu was genuinely panic inducing, one time you should never panic is when following a betting strategy that is proven to profit over the long-term.

You see, even with the very best betting systems or tipsters, you won’t always see a steady pattern of two steps forward, one step back…

Instead you’ll get periods where it’ll be two steps forward, six steps back, five steps forward, one step back, 4 steps forward etc and so on.

In these scenarios it’s absolutely critical that you keep your head and have faith in the strategy.

A very real example of this type of variance has occurred with our Inside Man service during the Euros. After much fanfare and bringing in of new members pre-tournament, these were our first six bets:

  • Jorginho over 83.5 passes – he made 81 passes
  • Elvedi over 68.5 passes – he made 66 passes
  • Denmark to beat Finland to nil – a Denmark player literally nearly died
  • Half-time draw in Scotland v Czech Republic – the Czechs took the lead 3 minutes before half-time
  • Scotland ‘draw no bet’ – another loss
  • Poland to beat Slovakia 1-0 or 2-0 – the Slovaks went ahead with an own goal

Quite the start!

Perhaps unsurprisingly – but certainly not advisably – a couple of new members left the service…

Well, you can probably guess what happened next.

The clouds parted, the sun started shining again, 16 of the next 25 bets won, and the service is now sitting at an overall profit for the tournament of 4.63 points – a perfectly respectable return on investment of 12.5%.

I know it’s a drum I’ve banged before but I make no apologies…

If you’re going to follow a strategy then set aside the advised betting bank (in this case, 30 points) and…

If instead you’re going to stop at the first sign of trouble well, you’re better off not starting in the first place.

🍦 First up this week, look out bankers, DeFi is coming to get you! Here’s the story.

🍦 And with crypto ownership spiking according to this article, the bankers would be right to be concerned.

🍦 Next up, some news on Kraken with the CEO talking up their plans to go public. You can find out when that’s expected to happen by clicking here now.

🍦 Talking of newfangled crypto things, Taproot is coming! You can read all about it here.

🍦 It’s certainly an exciting space, but DeFi is also a bit weird isn’t it? Well, according to this article, you aint seen nothing yet!

🍦 And finally, my Crypto with Kash community is getting bigger and better every day. If you’d like to join our happy bunch and of course get access to our full portfolio of recommendations, just click this link.

That’s all from me for today. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I’ll be back in your inbox in a few days’ time.

“I already feel like I need to throw up”

Reporting from Bet Chat HQ, north London…

At Bet Chat Towers it’s very much a good news/bad news end to the week…

Good news: We’re going to Royal Ascot tomorrow!

Bad news: I can already feel Friday’s hangover.

Good news: It’s a government test event which means no Covid-19 restrictions at the track!

Bad news: That means taking not one, not two, but THREE of those horrible brain poking Covid-19 tests.

Bad news/Good news: After a couple of weeks of largely glorious sunshine, tomorrow it’s set to rain all day/Given I have to wear a suit and tie all day, I’m secretly quite pleased the weather is taking a turn for the worse.

Granted, these are very much #firstworldproblems but still, gotta find something to complain about eh!

Good news only on this front…

One thing I can’t complain about is that so far the Racecracker service has had two bets and two bets only at Royal Ascot…

And they both won (one at 15/2)!

Now it is worth saying that the service doesn’t really focus on big events like Royal Ascot – more so on standard day to day racing – but still, can’t argue with the results from the big meet so far!

If you’d like to give the service a try with a 30 day money back guarantee then just click here now.

Otherwise, enjoy the rest of your week and, if you are at Ascot tomorrow, maybe we’ll see you there!
