Mel’s dark horses for this weekend

My clients at First Class Racing have just completed a full UK National Hunt season with me and we finished nicely ahead in PROFIT.

Currently, we are enjoying more success in Ireland at the Punchestown Festival with two wins from only 3 bets so far and MORE PROFIT. Energumene WON 8/11. The Nice Guy WON 9/4.

We have bets lined up for Punchestown on Saturday 30th April – don’t miss these!

Isn’t it time you started making a profit from your betting too?

Take a look at First Class Racing here.

Since launch in September 2021 we have a strike rate of 52.5% and average win price of 13/8 (2.625/1) – you do the maths!

The starting bank advised is ONLY 20 points. One point = a £ value of your own choice.

All past results available on request but now is the time to look to the future with the new 2022 Turf Flat season underway as we are fill up the form book in anticipation of another “Summer of Success!” with First Class Racing selections.

It’s a Classic weekend from Newmarket!

Saturday sees the 2000 Guineas. It is blessed with the best from 2021 and we will witness those that have progressed from two year old to three year old and also where the journey ahead lies for many of them.

The field is filled with horses that we spotted as the ‘best in race’ last year such as Native Trail and Perfect Power who added £’s to our respective banks. Thank you!

The form book rarely lies, and the obvious winner is Native Trail who showed his well-being at Newmarket earlier this month as did Perfect Power at Newbury. Also, we can’t underestimate the chance of Luxembourg from the all-conquering stable of Aiden O’Brien.

They are the form horses from what was achieved as two year olds, but what we don’t know is how much progression has been made over the winter by the others. Your guess is as good as mine!

My dark horse suggestion: Boundless Ocean

Sunday it is the turn of the Ladies, 1000 Guineas.

It is a similar story at this time of year in not knowing how much each filly has progressed over the winter. In our position as punters, and without the ridiculous moniker of ‘inside Information’ we simply don’t know and, with honesty, it is highly unlikely that connections of each filly know either.

The form fillies from 2021 are Discoveries, Tenebrism and Wild Beauty. The same question is posed: which filly has trained on the best? Same answer: nobody knows for certain.

My dark horse suggestion: Hello You

If you fully understand me and how I work – no guessing, love the sport – you’ll understand why come the off of each race I’ll be sat with a cup of tea, best seat in the house, Bose sound bar on, hoping to witness a top class race won by a top class horse perhaps with ‘superstar’ label.

For me, there’s nothing better in horse racing than watching the best beat the not so best in style.

Remember Mishriff at York last year? Hurricane Lane, Hukum, Native Trail, Angel Bleu and many others…

Feel the passion!
