This series is all about the ups and downs of a tipster portfolio approach to sports betting. It’s not here to directly promote any of the services and it’s certainly not here to criticise them either (after all, I’d be quite the fool to stake my own money on a service I don’t have faith in!)
Ultimately, the sole goal is to show that, despite the natural peaks and troughs, it is possible to make a good side income from sports betting if you follow the right services. All it takes is a little bit of organisation, and plenty of patience!
Please Note: I’ve written an introduction to this betting diary feature which you will need to read first to make sense of the below. You can find it on the Bet Chat website by clicking this link.

Freebies
The freebies have performed well again this week. Friday’s Raceology was a 17/2 win only winner but Flat Flyers from Lucrative was the star with £155 profit. The others found it harder going with small losses but nothing significant. I have taken some more newbies on board for next week. Having re-joined Smart Betting Club, I have gained access to No Foto Required and the catchily named SBC Pricewise Strategy plus the not strictly free but £1 for a month Hidden Winners, also from the Lucrative stable but no bets to report yet.
Northern Monkey
Goes from bad to worse with another £92 loss and this with £55 profit on Saturday. Much as I am loathe to, I must give this one serious consideration soon. His 2022 losses are now over £1600!
Brett has shown how losses should be handled. A £109 profit on Saturday followed by tips on Sunday from the Sunday Series and I felt confident enough to return to multis. No Sunday winners but placings earned me another £53. Brett is now just £3.76 in the red for 2022 after recovering from £1085 down and will return to full staking this weekend.
Returned a staggering £456 profit for the week to just £10 stakes. All started with a 50/1 winner under Jim Crowley followed by a 10/1 winner at Doncaster and a two pointer at 11/2 all on the same day which coincidentally was the 32nd anniversary of the day I met my wife. How romantic! That’s one anniversary I won’t forget in a hurry!!
Two bets, two losses for -£80. But in fairness with such low volume of bets, a week is not a reflection of the service which for me is just £32 down.
Football
Welcome back Adam. A surprise draw by Liverpool at Fulham and my multi habit led to a loss of £42 on a quiet opening day.
Golf
Placeless again but only £102 staked this week.
Tennis
The start of the American swing and £282 gained.
Summary
A profit of £689 this week with racing freebies, Love, Racecracker and tennis all contributing heathy gains. For the year I am still £1400 down but that is from a peak of £3414 as recently as 23rd June, so it shows how things can change around if you have a plan and stick to it.
Optimism is sky high but that brings its own dangers. I’ve just placed £300 worth of tennis bets with more to come so let’s hope I am striking while the iron is hot and not tempting fate.
